The Düsseldorf Rhein Fire have signed former Leipzig Kings standout receiver, Timothey Knuettel, for the 2022 season.

Knuettel made himself known as one of the ELFs best route runners in 2021 and ended last season with 55 receptions for 701 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games. He commented on joining the Rhein Fire, stating,

“The reason I chose Rhein Fire is because I believe this is a great organization, from staff to players and things are being set up for a trip to Austria in September“

The Vienna Vikings have signed wide receiver and NFL International Pathways Program prospect Florin Bierbaumer for the 2022 season.

Bierbaumer played the 2021 season with the Graz Giants of the Austrian Football League. In 9 games with the Giants, he recorded 37 receptions for 740 yards and 6 touchdowns, ranking 2nd in the league in receiving, only behind recent Raiders Tirol signee Phillipp Haun.

Bierbaumer commented on his recent signing, stating,

“I think the expectation of the team is of course to win the title in our own country! Personally, my development is also very important and that I get the most out of the time in the European League of Football and with the Vikings!”

ELF Franchises Set Up Charities for Ukraine

The Wroclaw Panthers, Cologne Centurions, and Hamburg Sea Devils have teamed up for charity to help those in need and express solidarity towards Ukraine.

The Wroclaw Panthers hosted a charity event on March 5th called “Coaches for Ukraine,” where people who donated to a UNICEF fundraiser were able to attend an online event featuring guest speaker, former Denver Broncos head coach, Gary Kubiak, along with a few other former NFL and NCAA coaches.
