CFL Week 10 Fantasy Football Picks and Sleepers: Draft Kings, Game Zone, 110Yards Waivers

Great deals on players flying under the radar who are of higher value than what their pricing or availability would indicate.

Expensive Players

This week I’m hesitant with a lot of the team’s passing game. Calgary last week didn’t have a pass play longer than 15 yards as they simplified their game and focused on the ground game. That’s great for what their team needs right now strategy but it is not great for fantasy. There are also a lot of injured quarterbacks. Toronto’s Chad Kelly left his game early last week, Cody Fajardo played through a left shoulder injury for Montreal, and Vernon Adams Jr. is just coming back after missing 2 games due to a knee injury.

BC has 4 receivers who have had a lot of great fantasy games inclluding Keon Hatcher, Dominique Rhymes, Alexander Hollins, and Lucky Whitehead. However, I’m nervous about their quarterback’s knee and if that will limit production.

Zach Collaros (WPG) QB @ EDM

Draft Kings Price: $11K

Game Zone Price: $15K

110Yards Ownership: 96%

I typically try to put a spotlight on sleepers and relatively lesser-known players to consider. Collaros lit it up last week and is cooking with Kenny Lawler now back in blue and gold. With Chad Kelly, Cody Fajardo, and Vernon Adams Jr. all banged up and playing through some extent of an injury (who by the way are the other 3 QBs I consider to be among the top 4 CFL quarterbacks). It is hard to imagine any QB has a better fantasy day than Collaros this week.

Brady Oliveira (WPG) RB @ EDM

Draft Kings Price: $9.4K

Game Zone Price: $14.5K

110Yards Ownership: 85%

One of the most productive CFL runningbacks against the team that struggles the most at stopping the run. Pretty easy to see why this is a good idea.

Kenny Lawler (WPG) WR @ EDM

Draft Kings Price: $10K

Game Zone Price: $12.5K

110Yards Ownership: 69%

Lawler missed the first 6 games due to an immigration issue. In his only game so far this season he had 16.3 fantasy points. He was the league leader in yards in 2021 and is reunited with Zach Collaros. He said he wants to get to 2,000 yards despite missing the first 6 games and then breaking off a 200-yard game. Dalton Schoen is of course another great option if you can afford his

Shawn Bane Jr. (SSK) WR @ MTL

Draft Kings Price: $10K

Game Zone Price: $14.2K

110Yards Ownership: 77%

Bane Jr. has had a lot of productive games and has seen a lot of production playing with Mason Fine at quarterback the last few games. Bane Jr. has been on a tear scoring 17.4 points in week 7, 33.4 in week 8, and 20.8 points last week which saw him catch a nice over-the-shoulder touchdown.

Tevin Jones is another good option as well in Saskatchewan although more expensive on Draft Kings at 9.2K although he only had 1 reception last week..

Bargain Bin

Tre Ford (EDM) QB vs Winnipeg

Draft Kings Price: $6.5K

Game Zone Price: $5K

110Yards Ownership: 15%

Do I think Tre Ford will blow up the stats sheet in his first start in roughly a year against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers? Well no. But his price point is extremely low and Ford is a dual-threat quarterback which creates a high fantasy ceiling. Ford is going to be very hungry to play well enough to stay the starter. He is priced so much lower than other QBs. Would you rather spend 9.9K on Dustin Crum or 6.5K on Tre Ford? I’d say Tre Ford.

Ka’Deem Carey (CGY), RB @ BC

Draft Kings Price: $8K

Game Zone Price: $12.7K

110Yards Ownership: 83%

Carey has been a full participant in practice the last 2 practices for Calgary. He missed every game since week 1 with a toe injury. We’re talking about the player who was the CFL all-star last season at runningback being priced lower than all other starting runningbacks this week. There is some risk with him as it’s not yet announced if he will start and it’s unclear how Calgary will utilize Dedrick Mills alongside him who has also been very good this season.

Drew Wolitarsky (WPG) WR vs BC

Draft Kings Price: $6.6K

Game Zone Price: $10K

110Yards Ownership: 71%

Wolitarsky has been a consistent red zone target for Collaros and has 4 touchdowns. It’s very possible he could add another as defenses struggle to figure out if they should cover Schoen or Lawler and briefly forget about Winnipeg’s other weaponry.

Nate Behar (OTT) WR @TOR

Draft Kings Price: $5.1K

Game Zone Price: $8.5K

110Yards Ownership: 60%

Had a quieter game last week. In the first 3 of the four games Dustin Crum started, Behar has seen a ton of targets. Justin Hardy for Ottawa has as well who has a Draft Kings price point of 8.3K. Behar has been an excellent possession receiver. With Toronto’s effective pass rush, Dustin Crum will need to get rid of the ball quickly. Behar is excellent in short routes.

Tyson Philpot (MTL) WR vs SSK

Draft Kings Price: $4.7K

Game Zone Price: $6K

110Yards Ownership: 29%

He’s had 2 games this season now after missing the first portion due to injury. He showed great development in his rookie season last year. Last week he had 4 catches on 5 targets for 26 yards. Tyler Snead (6.1K) and Quartney Davis (2.5K) could also see some targets this week for the Als. Austin Mack is of course also going to put up a lot of points but he’s also now the highest-priced receiver on Draft Kings.

Jareth Sterns (SSK) WR @ MTL

Draft Kings Price: $2.5K

Game Zone Price: $2.5K

110Yards Ownership: 25%

Sterns caught all 7 of his targets for 83 yards last week. That was his first game of the season. That means, a low price point and high availability.

Tommylee Lewis (CGY) WR @ MTL

Draft Kings Price: $3.2K

Game Zone Price: $5.8K

110Yards Ownership: 13%

Lewis was the most targetted receiver for Calgary last week. All of Calgary’s pass plays were short in what was an abnormal game for the Stampeders. If this week looks like last week he is going to be a fantastic deal. However, the 2 games before he only generated around 7 points so there is a good chance that last week was an abnormality rather than a trend with other receivers like Reggie Begelton or Tre Odoms-Dukes having such good seasons for Calgary.
