Hamilton Signs 3rd Round CFL Draft Pick From 2021

The Tiger-Cats have successfully signed Canadian National defensive lineman Mohamed Diallo. Diallo was the 19th pick of the 2021 CFL draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Diallo is 24 years old, 6 foot 5 inches, 305 pounds, and is a native of Toronto, Ontario. Diallo began his college football career at Arizona Western University (2017), spent a season at Texas Tech, transferred to Central Michigan (2019-20) and completed his college playing career at University of Arizona (2021). The fact that Diallo is a Canadian National lineman with an elite body-type makes him a potentially valuable player for the Tiger-Cats.

Diallo’s history of short stints in his college career may draw criticism, but the Tiger-Cats coaching staff has a opportunity to work to develop Diallo into a successful CFL defensive lineman. Coming into the 2022 season, the Tiger-Cats defensive line presents an opportunity for a young player like Diallo with only 2 of the starters from 2021 returning. The challenge will involve evaluating Diallo as a professional defensive lineman, and then determine an effective plan for maximizing his potential to benefit the Tiger-Cats in 2022.

It will interesting to watch and see how Mohamed Diallo performs in the pre-season. The first opportunity for Diallo may be this Friday against the Toronto Argonauts.
