Montreal Alouettes Re-Sign RG Donald Ventrelli, Sign WR Isaac Gaillardetz

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that they have re-signed starting right guard Donald Ventrelli through the 2027 season and signed Canadian receiver Isaac Gaillardetz through 2028.

OL Donald Ventrelli – North Dakota (6’4, 300 lbs)

Ventrelli started every regular-season game at right guard except for week 21 and resumed the starting role throughout the playoffs. He played for the Alouettes in 2024, spending the majority of the season on the practice roster, appearing in 2 games with 1 start.

He was particularly impressive in Montreal’s win in the Eastern Final over Winnipeg, allowing only 1 pressure by my count and noticeably moving bodies in a game that saw Stevie Scott rush for 133 yards. In September, he recovered a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown against Saskatchewan.

He played his collegiate ball at the University of North Dakota, where he was Second-Team All-Conference twice. He attended a rookie minicamp with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent prior to signing with the Alouettes.

WR Isaac Gaillardetz – Laval (6’3, 215 lbs)

Gaillardetz was selected by the Alouettes in the sixth round (53rd overall) of the 2025 CFL Draft. He attended Montreal’s training camp earlier this year before wrapping up his collegiate career.

In his final season with the Laval Rouge et Or in 2025, Gaillardetz earned RSEQ All-Star recognition after hauling in 31 receptions for 512 yards and four touchdowns over eight games. He spent his entire university tenure with the Rouge et Or from 2021 to 2025. In his 2 playoff games, he reeled in 9 catches for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Isaac Gaillaretz had another strong season in 2023, catching 28 passes for 501 yards and 3 touchdowns over 8 games. In 2024, he added 17 receptions for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns in 8 games.

At the CFL Combine, he recorded a 36.5-inch vertical, a 4.75-second 40-yard dash, a 4.21-second shuttle, a 7.2-second 3-cone drill, a 9’11 1/2” broad jump, and 7 bench reps. His vertical leap highlights potential as a possession or red-zone target.
