Montreal Alouettes Sign DB Linden Stephens

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Thursday the signing of American defensive back Linden Stephens.

DB Linden Stephens – Cincinnati (28 y/o, 6’0, 193 lbs)

Linden Stephens played his NCAA ball for the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2014 to 2017. He contributed 92 solo tackles, 48 assisted tackles, 26 passes defended, 6 interceptions, 1.5 tackles for a loss, and a forced fumble with the Bearcats.

Stephens signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and was waived amid final roster cuts. He spent time with several NFL teams from 2018 to 2022 oftentimes on different teams’ practice squads.

In 2019 Stephens played in 3 games with the Denver Broncos contributing 3 solo tackles. In 2020 he played in 13 games with the Seattle Seahawks and recorded 3 tackles.

Stephens was drafted by the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL Draft. He was the 23rd defensive back selected in the draft. He played in 8 games with 6 starts with the Sea Dragons in 2023 and made 15 solo tackles and 7 assisted tackles. Out of the 52 XFL cornerbacks graded by Pro Football Focus, PFF had Stephens ranked 33rd in overall defensive grade among that group.
