Week 1 Fantasy Football Rankings

1 – Austin Mack – Montreal Alouettes – Previous Ranking: 3

5 GP, 30 Receptions,  458 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 11 targets, 7 receptions, 70 yards.

Austin Mack is now the league leader in receiving yards and yards per game. The Ohio State product has been excellent in his CFL rookie season. He has a lot of trust from Montreal’s quarterback, Cody Fajardo, who has been consistently targeting him a lot.

2 – Dalton Schoen – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Previous Ranking: 2

6 GP, 27 Receptions,  431 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 7 targets, 4 receptions, 66 yards.

Dalton Schoen is having another good year after leading the league in receiving yards as a rookie. Kenny Lawler is returning to Winnipeg’s lineup in week 7 after an immigration issue. There may be a reduction in Schoen’s targets with Lawler returning but there will be a huge increase in opportunity to make big plays.

3 – Dominique Rhymes – BC Lions – Previous Ranking: 1

4 GP, 17 Receptions,  283 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

Dominique Rhymes leads the league in receiving touchdowns. BC was on the bye week in week 6.

4 – Keon Hatcher – BC Lions – Previous Ranking: 5

2 GP, 14 Receptions,  172 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Hatcher has been highly productive in his 2 games so far. He missed the first 3 games of the season due to a foot injury.

5 – Tevin Jones – Saskatchewan Roughriders – Previous Ranking: 4

4 GP, 21 Receptions,  340 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 84 yards, 1 touchdown.

Jones has been excellent for Saskatchewan after starting the season on the practice roster. Despite being tied for 3rd in targets, Jones once again led the team in receiving yards. He was the recipient of some good luck on a miraculous 69-yard touchdown. In the final minutes of the game on a 3rd and long Mason Fine heaved the ball into double coverage. The ball deflected up into the air as the defenders fell to the ground. Jones grabbed the ball out of the year and scored the unbelievable touchdown.

6 – Kaion Julien-Grant* – Montreal Alouettes – Previous Ranking: 7

5 GP, 25 Receptions,  398 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 7 targets, 6 receptions, 64 yards.

Kaion Julien-Grant has really emerged this season as a CFL superstar. He is currently third in yards in the league and 4th in yards per game. In the first 3 games Julien-Grant and Austin Mack were essentially the only Montreal receivers getting targets. Montreal is spreading the ball around more evenly so his yards per game could decrease. Julien-Grant has been one of the harder receivers to tackle this season playing a very physical game fighting for extra yards. In week 6 he had 45 YAC.

7 – Tim White – Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Previous Ranking: 6

5 GP, 19 Receptions,  333 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 71 yards, and 1 touchdown.

White was only targetted 3 times but still led Hamilton in receiving yards in week 6. Hamilton turned to the ground game a lot and only attempted 21 passes in week 6.

Matthew Shiltz left the game due to an injury and did not practice on Monday. It is not clear who will be throwing the ball to Tim White this week.

8 – Reggie Begelton – Calgary Stampeders – Previous Ranking: 8

4 GP, 21 Receptions,  326 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 7 targets, 3 receptions, 92 yards.

Reggie Begelton has been excellent for Calgary. In week 6 he had 2 plays greater than 30 yards. 41 of his 92 yards were YAC in the win against Saskatchewan. Begelton has continued to demonstrate a great ability to maximize plays when the ball is in his hands.

9 – Kenny Lawler – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Previous Ranking: 7 (Pre-Season Ranking)

Kenny Lawler is finally back. He missed the first 6 weeks for the Bombers due to an immigration issue relating to a DUI charge from 2021. The 2021 receiving yards leader is uniting with the 2022 receiving yard leader in Dalton Schoen. I expect this to be the most dangerous receiving duo in the league as they catch passes from the back-to-back MOP, Zach Collaros.

10 – Nic Demski – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Previous Ranking: 10

5 GP, 24 Receptions,  320 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 6 targets, 5 receptions, 79 yards, 1 touchdown.

Demski had the most yards among the Winnipeg receivers and the 2nd most targets in the loss to Ottawa. His target load may decrease somewhat as Kenny Lawler reunites with the Winnipeg lineup for week 7.

11 – Samuel Emilus – Saskatchewan Roughriders – Previous Ranking: 11

5 GP, 17 Receptions,  252 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 1 reception, 3 yards.

It was not a big day for Emilus as he had 3 receiving yards.

12 – Tre Odoms-Dukes – Calgary Stampeders – Previous Ranking: 13

5 GP, 24 Receptions,  268 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 7 targets, 5 receptions, 32 yards.

Odoms-Dukes had a quieter day in week 6 as his longest play was a 10-yard pickup. He was tied for first in targets for Calgary.

13 – Steven Dunbar Jr. – Edmonton Elks – Previous Ranking: 15

6 GP, 25 Receptions,  317 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 11 targets, 5 receptions, 72 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Dunbar Jr was the most targeted for Edmonton in week 6 and was 2nd in receiving yards for the team. Dunbar did tip up a ball thrown behind him that resulted in an interception in the red zone but overall played a really good game.

14 – Shawn Bane – Saskatchewan Roughriders – Previous Ranking: 12

5 GP, 21 Receptions,  309 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 23 yards.

15 – Duke Williams – Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Previous Ranking: 9

4 GP, 17 Receptions,  303 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 1 target, 0 receptions.

Williams did not record a catch in Hamilton’s win over Edmonton. It was surprising to see him only be targeted 1 time. Hamilton only attempted 21 passes in week 6 so this is likely an anomaly.

16 – Damonte Coxie – Toronto Argonauts – Previous Ranking: 17

4 GP, 13 Receptions,  252 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 6 targets, 4 receptions, 72 yards, 1 touchdown.

Coxie was the most targetted receiver for  Toronto in week 6 and had 3 receptions over 20 yards.

17 – Alexander Hollins – BC Lions – Previous Ranking: 14

5 GP, 23 Receptions,  294 yards, and 1 touchdown.

BC was on the bye week in week 6. Hollins had some highly productive games early on when key receivers were injured for BC. Hollins will likely have somewhat of a reduction in targets moving forward with the receiver room being healthy now.

18 – Drew Wolitarsky – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Previous Ranking: 18

6 GP, 21 Receptions,  279 yards, and 4 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 5 targets, 4 receptions, 70 yards, 1 touchdown.

Wolitarsky is 2nd in the league in touchdown receptions. He has done a good job getting open in the endzone and Collaros has been looking for him often in the redzone. With Lawler returning to Winnipeg’s lineup he may see a small reduction in targets.

19 – Justin Hardy – Ottawa RedBlacks – Previous Ranking: 19

5 GP, 25 Receptions,  240 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 7 targets, 5 receptions, 80 yards, 1 touchdown.

Hardy had a big game in the win against Winnipeg. He was 2nd in yards among RedBlack receivers and contributed the biggest play of the game on a 53-yard reception. 54 of his 80 yards were YAC.

20 – Kyran Moore – Edmonton Elks – Previous Ranking: 20

6 GP, 18 Receptions,  243 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 5 targets, 4 receptions, 101 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Moore led Edmonton in receiving yards in week 6 despite receiving the 4th most targets. He had the biggest play of the day with a 54-yard reception. Moore’s touchdown included him spinning a player off him before running another 25 yards for the score. It was magnificent.

21 – Lucky Whitehead – BC Lions – Previous Ranking: 16

3 GP, 12 Receptions,  126 yards.

On the bye in week 6.

22 – Maurice Ffrench – Edmonton Elks – Previous Ranking: 21

3 GP, 13 Receptions,  174 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 9 targets, 6 receptions, 70 yards.

Ffrench has been very good for Edmonton since being elevated from the practice roster. Ffrench did have a drop on a difficult reception that would have set up 1st and goal for the Elks. He was 2nd in targets for the Elks. Ffrench has been very good at getting open.

23 – Nate Behar – Ottawa RedBlacks – Previous Ranking: 36

5 GP, 21 Receptions, 162 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 14 targets, 10 receptions, 87 yards.

Behar had the most receiving yards and receptions for Ottawa in the overtime win against Winnipeg. He was also the most targeted. Ottawa is on their 4th starting quarterback so far this season in Dustin Crum who targetted Nate Behar 14 times in his first CFL start.

Behar had a very nice sideline catch for 25 yards in the final 20 seconds of the 4th quarter during Ottawa’s comeback. He also caught both of the 2 point conversion passes during the comeback.

24 – Jaelon Acklin – Ottawa RedBlacks – Previous Ranking: 25

5 GP, 16 Receptions,  188 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 8 targets, 6 receptions, 51 yards.

Acklin had a good game in week 6 for Ottawa and was third in receiving yards and 2nd in receptions for the team. Ottawa needs Acklin to get going and week 6 was a step in the right direction for him.

25 – Rasheed Bailey – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Previous Ranking: 26

6 GP, 17 Receptions,  120 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 8 targets, 5 receptions, 26 yards.

Bailey has had somewhat of a slow start this season and may see a reduction in targets with Kenny Lawler rejoining the Bombers for week 7. Bailey was the most targetted receiver in Winnipeg’s loss to Ottawa.

26 – Mitchell Picton – Saskatchewan Roughriders – Previous Ranking: 24

2 GP, 5 Receptions,  94 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 1 reception, 15 yards.

27 – Tyler Snead – Montreal Alouettes – Previous Ranking: 27

2 GP, 7 receptions, 109 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 3 receptions, 48 yards, 3 touchdowns.

Snead has been very good when targeted for Montreal. After scoring a hat trick of touchdowns in week 6 Snead is now the team leader in receiving touchdowns. He is a small receiver at 5’7 with an extreme amount of speed and reliable hands.

28 – Quartney Davis – Montreal Alouettes – Previous Ranking: 28

2 GP, 6 receptions, 94 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 6 targets, 4 receptions, 44 yards.

The Texas A&M product has looked good in his 2 CFL starts. He has a great ability to win contested balls over defenders. In both games so far he has been targeted 6 times.

29 – Jevon Cottoy – BC Lions – Previous Ranking: 29

5 GP, 15 Receptions,  176 yards, and 1 touchdown.

BC has a crowded receiver room when it comes to talent so there are a lot of good hands to share targets with. When Cottoy has the ball he is a very strong receiver with a tendency to barrel defenders out of his way.

30 – DaVaris Daniels – Toronto Argonauts – Previous Ranking: 30

4 GP, 10 Receptions,  190 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 91 yards.

Daniels led Toronto in yards in the win over Montreal and had 3 receptions over 20 yards with his longest being a 45-yarder.

31 – Kendall Watson – Saskatchewan Roughriders – Previous Ranking: 32

3 GP, 12 Receptions,  114 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 8 targets, 6 receptions, 43 yards.

Watson was 2nd in targets for the Riders in week 6.

32 – Luther Hakunavanhu – Calgary Stampeders – Previous Ranking: 38

4 GP, 10 Receptions,  168 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Week 6 Statline: 6 targets, 5 receptions, 94 yards, 1 touchdown.

Hakunavanhu had the most receiving yards and tied for the most receptions in Calgary’s offense in week 6. He had 2 receptions over 20 yards, one of which was a 48-yard play. His other 22-yard reception came in the final minute during Calgary’s game-winning drive.

33 – David Ungerer III – Toronto Argonauts – Previous Ranking: 45

3 GP, 9 Receptions, 161 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 4 targets, 4 receptions, 72 yards, 2 touchdowns.

Ungerer caught all 4 of his targets for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Argos in their win over Montreal.

34 – Cam Phillips – Toronto Argonauts – Previous Ranking: 31

4 GP, 12 Receptions,  163 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 3 receptions, 18 yards.

Was tied for fourth on the team in targets catching all 3 of them. A quieter day for Phillips as he was 6th in receiving yards for Toronto with 18.

35 – Terry Godwin – Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Previous Ranking: 40

5 GP, 18 Receptions,  184 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 5 targets, 4 receptions, 61 yards.

Terry Godwin was the most targetted receiver for Hamilton and was second in yards. Hamilton only attempted 21 passes in week 6.

36 – Dillon Mitchell – Edmonton Elks – Previous Ranking: 42

6 GP, 15 Receptions,  124 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 9 targets, 4 receptions, 68 yards.

Mitchell was tied for 2nd in targets for Edmonton in week 6 but only 4 of his 9 targets translated into receptions.

37 – Kurleigh Gittens Jr.* – Toronto Argonauts – Previous Ranking: 33

3 GP, 9 Receptions,  119 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 56 yards.

Gittens Jr. was tied for 4th in targets on Toronto’s offense but did still contribute a 42-yard play.

38 – Clark Barnes – Calgary Stampeders – Previous Ranking: Unranked

5 GP, 14 Receptions,  95 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 5 targets, 5 receptions, 34 yards.

Clark Barnes caught all 5 of his targets in week 6. Barnes was taken in the third round of the 2023 CFL draft by the Stampeders.

38 – Richie Sindani – Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Previous Ranking: 23

3 GP, 8 Receptions, 66 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 2 targets, 0 receptions.

Sindani was only targeted twice in week 6. There is some uncertainty in Hamilton’s offense. Bo Levi Mitchell was already on the 6-game injured list and Matthew Shiltz left the game due to an injury in week 6. Shiltz did not participate in Monday’s practice. It is unclear what Hamilton’s offense will look like if Taylor Powell gets the start in week 7.

39 – Justin McInnis – BC Lions – Previous Ranking: 41

5 GP, 14 Receptions,  231 yards, and 1 touchdown.

McInnis was a 2nd stringer in week 5. McInnis has the potential to put up very good numbers in place of an injured player as he has earlier in the year. With BC’s receiver room now healthy, McInnis will likely have some quieter games ahead of him.

40 – Greg McCrae – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Previous Ranking: 34

5 GP, 11 Receptions,  175 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 1 reception, 20 yards.

McCrae is listed as a running back who has been playing slotback this season. He is a highly versatile player who also filled in for the return game during the absence of Janarion Grant. He started the last 3 games at slotback but will likely have a reduction in his role with the return of Kenny Lawler for Winnipeg.

41 – Vincent Forbes-Mombleau – Edmonton Elks – Previous Ranking: 44

5 GP, 11 Receptions,  175 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 6 Statline: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 36 yards.

Forbes-Mombleau has looked good when targeted. He is not yet a household name in the CFL but the 24-year-old has been very reliable when called upon.

42 – Kiondre Smith – Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Previous Ranking: 37

5 GP, 14 Receptions,  125 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 3 targets, 1 reception, 17 yards.

It was a quieter day for Kiondre Smith in week 6. Hamilton only attempted 21 passes and it was James Butler’s 9.1 yards per carry that lifted the offense over Edmonton.

43 – Dejon Brissett – Toronto Argonauts – Previous Ranking: 39

4 GP, 9 Receptions,  156 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 1 target, 1 reception, 22 yards.

Brissett was the least-targeted receiver for Toronto in week 6. With Kurleigh Gittens Jr. now healthy, Brissett may see a reduction in targets moving forward.

44 – Carlton Agudosi – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Previous Ranking: 35

4 GP, 9 Receptions,  120 yards.

Agudosi was listed as a 2nd  week 6. With the return of Kenny Lawler to Winnipeg it is unclear what Agudosi’s usage will be.

45 – Siaosi Mariner – Ottawa RedBlacks – Previous Ranking: 43

3 GP, 7 Receptions,  72 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 6 targets, 3 receptions, 18 yards.

Mariner was 4th in targets for Ottawa in week 6 and 5th in receiving yards.

46 – Marken Michel – Calgary Stampeders – Previous Ranking: Unranked

2 GP, 5 Receptions,  44 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 6 targets, 4 receptions, 33 yards.

In his 2nd game this season Michel was tied for third in targets on the team. The most targeted starting receiver for Calgary had 7 targets with the least targeted receiver having 5 targets.

47 – Hergy Mayala – Montreal Alouettes – Previous Ranking: 46

4 GP, 5 Receptions,  56 yards.

Week 6 Statline: 1 target, 1 reception, 11 yards.

Mayala is a good receiver who received interest from the USFL this past offseason. He has a low amount of production due to a low number of targets in each game.

48 – Cole Tucker – Calgary Stampeders – Previous Ranking: 22

2 GP, 3 Receptions,  41 yards.

Played in week 6 listed as a 2nd stringer. Was not targeted in the game.
